Rocking the 18th Hole at Dearborn
Gail & Rice stages a spectacular finale to the Ford Senior
Tour Players Championship
July 11, 2004 - Dearborn, Michigan - This year’s Ford
Senior Tour Players Championship at Dearborn, Michigan closed
with a rocking performance by platinum-selling recording
artist Hootie & The Blowfish.
Gail & Rice, Inc., of Southfield, Michigan, worked in
partnership with J. Walter Thompson Agency to develop an
event that brought a new level of fun and excitement to this,
one of professional golf’s and the Senior Tour’s
most prestigious events.
As one of the four “Majors” on the Senior Tour,
The Ford Players Championship at Dearborn was looking to
inject new energy into this venerable event. Gail & Rice
provided an exciting solution, staging a free concert for
all attendees.
A massive stage was erected immediately adjacent to the 18th
green. As the final foursome concluded their round, Hootie & The
Blowfish took the stage, launching their show to the delight
of the entire gallery. A full set followed, with golf – and
Hootie – fans spread out over the 18th fairway, singing
along to this once-in-a-lifetime show.
